Wasn't that the story from the Trump-Biden debate - Trump lied better than Biden truthed. -

@wdlindsy One may find a Vance connection to a window company, like Trump connected to building the wall. Maybe even Mexican window company/s

@wdlindsy we have people saying don't send red states hurricane relief because of how they voted. you can't kindness that type of attitude away

β but political debates arenβt won by winning the approval of the pundits. They are won by making persuasive arguments to the voters tuning in.β
βοΈ How naive can you be! Political debates in the twenty first century are won by those who can lie most convincingly. Preferably backed up by a massive media spend. If the Left refuses to understand that this is what it is up against, IT WILL LOSE!

@KimSJ I'm afraid you've confused me with Dan Pfeiffer. He wrote those words, not I, though you address your comment to me.

@bladerunner Who's saying that? The only shocking denial of government support I can recall in recent years was in the Trump era, when assistance to blue-voting cities heavily hit initially by Covid was delayed for political reasons, and when natural disasters hit blue-voting areas and Trump wanted to withhold assistance. What government officials are saying red states shouldn't receive hurricane relief?

@Finerthanfroghair Yes, I think that dynamic plays into continuing fervent support of Trump more than some folks realize.

@susiemagoo Not in normal debates I've heard much about, for sure.

@Runyan50 I share your frustration with what nearly half of us seem willing to permit and choose. I also think we have to commit ourselves to keep fighting for something better.

@Greengordon I myself have not ever had huge admiration for NYT. Unfortunately, many people still think of it as the best arbiter of American media opinion. It continues to have outsized influence. When European media outlets quote an American newspaper, it's almost always NYT.

@Runyan50 Some of us are just that shallow, unfortunately β shallow enough to see Vance as a "winner." And the big problem that we face is that a lot of those who think that way are media gurus.
