i strongly believe that mastodon should implement the ability to view posts by date range, instead of dropping everything into a massive chronological feed that can only be loaded in reverse order a few posts at a time

but it is kinda fun going on a stroll down memory lane every time i want to find some specific old post i forgot to bookmark
i’d still rather not lose that time
but it’s a little fun

@jepyang I periodically download my archive, which I’ve found *much* easier to search when looking for old posts; this is also how I’ve been curating the my “best of” page: https://lyonheart.us/socials/

@jepyang I mean, I’ve had this collection of web pages going on 14 years now, and have had a personal web page almost continuously since 1996, so it just felt like a thing to do
I have a little script that crawls my downloaded archive and prompts me for each post to save it as an entry in that directory, maybe I should extract it & release it as a thing
