Currently, #Mastodon only renders a few harmless tags like <strong> and <em> in the HTML of content received from other ActivityPub softwares like Misskey. In addition to these, I believe that tags related to ruby characters, which are often used in East Asian texts such as so-called #CJK, should also be allowed, as they don't just add to the presentation of the text, but actually represent how the characters are read, which also improves accessibility.
