There are 42 states where you can register to vote online, these are the ones where you can't:
Arkansas
Mississippi
Montana
New Hampshire
North Dakota
South Dakota
Texas
WyomingIf you've seen websites suggesting that you can register online in those states, that is a voter suppression technique, specifically targeting younger voters who are much more likely to vote progressively. If you live in any of these states, make sure you can vote, it usually must be done by mail or in person.

@RickiTarr and for the love of all things, know which COUNTY you’re registered in if you’re a student. I worked Election Day polls in a TX college town in 2020 - *so many* kids were registered in their hometown county hours away and not the university’s county. They filled out provisional ballots, a process that was twice as long and had a fraction of a chance of being approved to be counted.

When I worked the polls for the 2020 election in this college town, the last voter of the day was a wild eyed college student who had just driven in from an adjacent state to vote here, where they were registered (parents live here), after trying to vote in new town and finding out they hadn’t registered there in time.
Check your registration now folks!

Looking from accross the ocean.
What I find amazing about the US voting system: why do yo have to register as a voter? This creates a barrier to prevent you from excercising your civil rights.
In old fashioned EU, when there is an election coming up, the municipal administration automatically sends you your voting card by post. If they don't: prosecute them. Only voters abroad have to register at their embassy. They receive a prompt to do so by post or e-mail.
