I put creamer in my coffee, no way in hell I'm microwaving my coffee with creamer. It's gross.

A mug on a plate is not interchangeable, conceptually, with a teacup and saucer. Even ones decorated in a rather fetching Wedgewood-esque style.

The problems with microwaving coffee are two fold. First the fact that you are reheating coffee means that it was sitting out. This means that it becomes rancid which means that not only does it taste bad but it can cause body harm.

But I like it burned and ancient. Seriously. Used to go round the office and dunk all the dredges in my tumbler, dump 1/8 cup of sugar in there, ice it down.

My wife is like an alcoholic leaving half-drunk beers all over the house. I dump them into my own cup, nuke it.

They go bad sitting out, losing volatiles and absorbing oxygen. Microwaving bad, old coffee gives you bad warm coffee

OTOH microwaving well stored coffee or some that has only just gone cold is the last damaging way of warming it

See, I like to actually enjoy myself sometimes, instead of just hating the world

And part of that enjoyment is good coffee. Fresh, locally roasted coffee, that I grind fresh each morning. I either take it black, or with a splash of milk, depending on my mood

Drip brewers are perfectly fine, so long as you don't use the hot plate. But the biggest impact on coffee flavor is the freshness of both the roast and the grind

I wouldn't microwave milk either. It just ruins the taste of the coffee microwaving it.
