Option to hide topics with an NSFW tag.

I've been thinking of introducing an update to the flagging system, so you can flag a topic as one of:

NSFW
Spam
Something else?

Then we could have more fine-grained control over what happens at certain reps... -3 for spam? Instant ban.

That sort of thing... what do you think?

@julian Potentially, but it's open for abuse. Wouldn't take long for someone to create X accounts and flag the same comment X times, or get a group to do it. Users can flag posts, so spam is pretty much already covered. Registered User moderating very rarely works in most cases. Even places like Reddit or Stack Overflow just push that content to the bottom. So it's not seen.

NSFW tagging is down to the forum admin, they either allow it, or they don't.

A possible solution could be adding reasons behind why users are flagging content via a radio button lightbox, so rather than just sending it to a moderator/admin, admins could specify what happens when a post is flagged as spam, or NSFW. Or if no rule is created, send it to an admin. So IF topic flagged as NSFW, add tag NSFW and send it to mod for confirmation.

Basically IFTTT, NodeBB edition.

A switch in the header for this feature would be nice. About the flag system, I think if an admin flag a post as spam, the posts of their user should be purged and the user banned. For the others, a confirmation should be required from an admin or a moderator.

How about a warning bootbox once you select the thread that's tagged as NSFW? It'll leave the outer background of the bootbox blurred out until you click "Ok" or "Leave thread' buttons. I'll see if I can draw a mock up to further explain myself.

@Ralkage That would probably drive me insane. I think a simple option to turn them on or off would be more sufficient.

I'll try that for my first project then, I'll even see how theyboth work and see what drives me insane first haha.

@julian that flag mechanism for posts will be very good.

We are having huge problems with Google AdSense as its all User generated content and we would love to be able to either

Hide topics from logged out and normal users
Hide ads on topics

On those topics if other users mark it as NSFW, or 18+ tag or flagged as 18+

This will be a huge help. We need this in core and I m sure many others do need this as well.

Google is getting very strict with its content policies now.
