I need to do some #3dPrinting but I'm running into trouble modeling. TinkerCAD doesn't do what I need (I am printing some complex shapes and I need to be able to do things like deform an extrusion of svg import on a curve), and Blender is just not stable enough, both in terms of crashes, as well as mysterious and baffling results when trying to do Boolean operations on solids. And FreeCAD also keeps crashing AND I just can't figure out the UI.

Does anyone have software recommendations for solid modeling that's not TinkerCAD, FreeCAD, or Blender? I use linux.
I used to use SolidWorks twenty years ago for milling, so I am not a total newbie. Maybe I can run some old software in a VM?

@alter_kaker OpenSCAD could be worth a look, although it comes at things from kind of a different angle
