@collectifission That's definitely a wrong statement. Nuclear, as any other source, has advantages but also a buttload of disadvantages. Namely
> Very high cost (the highest of any source)
> Low availability / high centralization
> Slower to regulate
> Cooling
> Security (as in crime/war, not safety)All of this of course potentially impacts Energy Security. Secure, well organized jobs ain't a unique feature either.
There are no silver bullets. Please stay with the facts.

@collectifission Of course there are also objectively measurable upsides, namely
> High constant energy delivery
> Small footprint
> High energy density (Especially useful for the planed moon base as well as any kind of probe, interplanetary drone etc.)
> Safety (ONLY if done well!)Unless a country got direct access to a lot of sodium-ion batteries but no cooling water, having a few reactors in the mix can absolutely make sense.
They're not as optimal as you want to make them look though.
