I think the "yesterday" tab of chatbox should be replaced with "recent". If a person had a chat with a friend 2 days back, when he opens the chatbox, by default no messages will show, as there had been no chat yesterday. Please take a look in to it.
Yeah good idea, first option should display last 50 messages or so.

If you are running a production site using NodeBB, my recommendation is do not git pull unless there's a new release.
