Are multiple category/post tpl's possible?

hey, finally putting my nodebb site together. Havent looked at the recent changes yet. Im interested in some categories displaying the featured image and some not. It would be nice if i could do this by switching between different category templates.

Same with the post templates too.

I would be interested in specifying Home page template as cgi parameter to the URL. That way I can skin Home page to match where visitors come from.
