In my defense, I wouldn't call it "Mansplaining" when it's a woman in software responding to another woman in software's seemingly genuine question about a software she works with.

I think we overuse that term: "Mansplaining", to me, is typically when a man assumes a woman doesn't know things, because she's a woman, and explains, poorly, the thing.

Either way, I didn't see who it was and treated her as a new user: I think it's important that the first "I am new and what is this?" gets a welcoming and informative response.

@cwebber Imagine a crazy business model where someone puts a lot of effort to provide a platform "for free" and then people use it and think themselves as absolutely clever because they just take and never pay a cent. But, they are not aware that actually the business guys take all their private information and make tons of money from targeted advertising. Fediverse is exactly that but without the money and the advertising and much more crazy business guys who don't actually have a business!

normal people don't read specs, and respond to questions immediatelly. I want to live in the world where emotional impulse to help is never mocked. I also don't want to force everyone to read all context, like nerd's brain tells, feels kinda selfish.

Exactly, #Fediverse is an online role-playing game where people incorrect each other without reading specs or knowing who they're responding to. The actual quantity of knowledge in the world doesn't increase, but is diluted to homeopathic levels.
