Totally sarcastic there, fuck Kentucky, it's an expected outcome.

"As you can see, with 0% of all precincts reporting, we're winning. Stop the count!"

I'm not going to CW everything tonight of all nights, just set your filters to ignore for #uspol or just mute me for 24 hours. I'll try to remember to include the hashtag. Not for discoverability, just for filters.
I'll also try to limit the conversation to a single thread.

If you're wondering if you should take a nap and check in later, you probably should.
The really interesting stuff starts later in the night. Though with the AP deciding they are going to call races with 0% of the vote counted thanks to their magic vote survey thingie, maybe we'll wrap this whole thing up in time for bedtime.
But I wouldn't count on it.

The red states are usually pretty easy calls, but until fair California logs her electoral votes, we'll likely see an initial "win" for Reps. There will also be a 'red mirage' as the early votes skew Republican from rural areas, while votes from the cities start slowly (or perhaps quickly) eroding those counts.
At least if things work the way they have in the past.

Senate majority feels like a dream at this point, Dems basically almost need to run the table, but it's still in reach, so I'll maintain optimism.

In case anyone is wondering, in answer to the question, "Why can't Americans have nice things?"
The Senate.
The fucking Senate.
That's why we can't have nice things.

Me, fast-forwarding through all the boring state calls, "Yes, yes, we knew that already, let's get to the good part."

I just want to see Republicans lose Iowa. That'd be fucking funny.

In case this goes the way we want, be prepared to say "land doesn't vote" over and over again to your angry Trump-voting relatives when you're home at Thanksgiving. #uspol

Poll: "Would you like to be able to smoke marijuana without going to jail?"
Florida: "Um....I'm not sure. Can you ask the question again?"

The Republicans being so fucking pissed at the idea their wives might vote for Harris really reveals the patriarchal focus.
Like not one even them would even remotely consider the possibility that they betrayed their wives with their votes. No, it's the other way around.

No real surprises yet, states falling into place like dominoes, everyone just waiting for the real questions:
The so-called "swing states."
(For everyone outside the country, we just call them that because we can't use poll math and past elections to accurately predict the outcomes of those states until the election.)

For historical record purposes, this is what the 270 to win site had for the electoral map. Before anyone started voting. So far, no surprises.

This is why I say the really interesting analysis will start coming later in the night.
Maybe a couple hours from now.
