This is true: "In context, the Tenet Media episode shouldn’t be blown out of proportion. It was one channel with a bit more than 300,000 subscribers that got a lot of money from Russia for a questionable ROI. It didn’t swing an election or meaningfully change public opinion on the Ukraine war. But it wasn’t alone. And in time, we’ll likely find out where else Russia was distributing its money." cc: @KamalaHarrisWin
The Russia-Funded YouTuber Story Will Only Get Bigger

We will never know what impact organizations like Tenet Media had on things like the six-month delay for U.S. aid to Ukraine because we do not know how many legislators based their votes on what their constituents learned from the influencers working for the Kremlin. -
The other piece on this: the money went to people with a track record of pushing pro-Kremlin disinformation and conspiracy theories.
EVERY content creator has other distribution channels in addition to Tenet. So while Tenet wasn't huge, the content creators had a lucrative runway to keep producing (most generously) useful idiot style content.
And seriously - who doesn't research someone willing to pay 100K a week? That strains belief.
