@RustyBertrand You're not limited by kolektiva as far as I can see. (https://kolektiva.social/@RustyBertrand) @Sable_Shade is on mastodon.social which HAS limited your account, which makes sense as they banned your original account. At least they haven't completely blocked it though.

@db0 @Sable_Shade All the people I brought from Twitter are there. 4.7k followers deleted. And I can't contact them. And they cannot see me. I'm unsearchable.
Like, my real friends. Completely cut off. Behind a wall.
Even Twitter didnt do that.

@RustyBertrand @Sable_Shade Yes, sadly there's no perfect solution for that. Any centralized service would just delete your account without recourse, like twitter did. In mastodon at least you have the chance that your followers will register or move to another server which won't block you.

OK! So if they move, they'll see my follow. Great news! Thanks. -

@RustyBertrand @Sable_Shade Yes, if your followers move to an instance that doesn't have you limited, they'll be able to see you normally. However if you're planning to suggest they move, make sure you suggest an instance that won't limit you in the future

This is dystopia. William Gibson wrote this script right?OK, I'm gonna try and wake up now.

@RustyBertrand @Sable_Shade imperfect world. Imperfect solutions. You can try to move to a social network without any central service moderators like nostr, but you'll then instead be inundated with fascists and pedos.

But why am I targeted? Shouldn't I be protected? Gay, indigenous, disabled. -
@RustyBertrand @Sable_Shade probably because mastodon.social is hosted in germany and tries to "toe the line" and also appear less radical to the centrists who they're trying to attract. At the end, any instance admin can ban anyone for any reason they want, but people outside of that instance can still see that person. It ensures one can never be truly silenced.
There's problems of course with mastodon.social running the largest fediverse instance which is why people like me suggest more split
