We have one in the alley, the bees adore it and drill into the buds before they even open. -
@MostlyTato It can get a bit invasive at times in the wrong place (we have a section of privet hedge that is now part cotoneaster. I just keep it trimmed & keep it in place as both the bees and the birds seem to enjoy it). Good stuff.

Yes, the alley one is wild, its had babies in the tarmac that I've rescued and potted on. I imagine its quite useful if its kept trimmed back. -
@MostlyTato Yes. One of those shrubs that a lot of UK local authorities seemed to love.

@MostlyTato But yes. Can make quite tough hedging if trimmed correctly. Not as anti-personnel as Pyracantha but a very hardy shrub that can do ground cover, standard shrub or hedging.
