It seems that I had been holding onto more hope than I thought.
My new hope is that reality has become undeniable. This is who we are. This is where we are. And it has been for some time. I hope that we've run out of ways to not see that, so we can face it and change it.

@jenniferplusplus Same, I didn't think I was being optimistic about the outcome, but it being what it is I realize I wasn't prepared for this level of bad.
Face the reality, yet again, but harsher yet this time, no denying it now. And once and for all, hopefully if we have the courage to press the issue, there is just no room left for letting family, "friends", and neighbors skate by on lame excuses while supporting this regime

@aeischeid We're not going to shame them into being better people. To the extent we can change people's minds, it will happen by normalizing communal, collective, social behavior. Because a whole bunch of people live in an information landscape that makes those thing unimaginable.
But mostly, we need to build our own institutions and power centers. And then use that power, so that treating humans with humanity is not an optional thing.
