I love the hanky code

They're either really into horseplay, cruising, and a threesome, or they're a 2.2k ohm ±5% resistor

@foone MHH or MMH? Inquiring minds want to know!
-
@jgeorge Monomethylhydrazine?
-
@foone I still remember the code using the obscene mnemonic my high school electronics teacher said once quickly under his breath.
-
@blp I've seen someone argue that obscene/offensive mnemonics are actually better because it's easier to remember them, as they shock you.

@foone I used the resistor colour codes when designing the part number system for Frogwood, although "natural", "olive" and later " burgundy" had to be accommodated using letters. The colour names came from the factory, and some of the mappings were a stretch, but it worked well enough!
One of our most popular colours was "Tardis"
660N0 - repeating two blue layers, black, natural, black. -
