The term Luddite is so misused in contemporary culture. And its appaling. If you can read, fucking read history books. Luddism is not about about being technologically inept. Nor does it mean denying the benefits of technology in daily lives. Thats a reductice understanding of the movement and the concept.
Luddites weren't against technology. They believed that technology was a means of production. What they were protesting about isn't the technology but the people who owned the technology. They were protesting about how replacing workers with a nepo baby as thr head of manufacturing would degrade the quality of their craft. They wanted the machines to be operated by people who had gone proper training with livable wages.
And its true, when you replace worker coops with an MBA holding shittain, the latter will find ways to get around labour rights and consumer rights.
Luddism =/= anti tech
Stop propagating that bullshit that Luddites were technology illiterate. Any movement that attacks the means of production IS NOT a friend of the working class
