@djcyry Apache can work too with reverse proxy's if you feel more comfortable with that. Its also documented in the current NodeBB documentation. So long you host the 2 NodeBB forums on different ports it will work without any problems.
DigitalOcean Digital Heaven?
-
So I'm currently running my NodeBB forum on an Amazon EC2 Small Instance. Which is going to run me about $20 to $30 a month. Can I pull off NodeBB on DigitalOcean for a fraction of the price? Who here can share their experiences with Digital Ocean. I've always been an AWS person, but I'm willing to let it go to save a buck. Anyone?

Save yourself a lot of money in hosting costs, and help NodeBB at the same time by using our referral code
(shameless plug).
We have had near zero problems with digital ocean. Sure, it goes down sometimes, but for what we are paying, it is more than worth the money!

Done. However, how would I go about transferring over all of my NodeBB data?
-
All of the NodeBB data is contained in the redis dump file, and the
/public/uploads
folder. You can just copy those two over to the new server's NodeBB install. -
Yesterday here at Pixel Oats we migrated our forum from AWS EC2 to Digital Ocean and we are more than happy. $30 a month to $5 a month. No need to look elsewhere.

@delc82 I very much agree. I switched over during my lunch break. It took me nearly 30 minutes. Super impressed.
