Can admin send a pm to a user?

I recently disabled chat on our forums but we still need to have a way to send private messages to users.

Is there a way to keep chat disabled, yet have the ability to message users?

I guess it's not possible unless chat is enabled. I enabled it again.

Mainly, we just needed users to not be able to chat the mods/admins, we want them to post in public unless we reach out to them.

Or, having chat would be great so long as users could not initiate them, only respond.

This is not possible right now since the chat privilege controls if users can start a chat and send a message. You can keep chat enabled and remove the chat and chat with privileged privileges from regular users. In this case admins can still send messages to regular users but they wouldn't be able to respond.

You'll need to enable it first till then it'll not be possible to send pm.
