Respect all topics when filtering by popularity and by date

Hi,

if I filter the popular topics in Slick theme, for example to last week, there are only topics showing up that have been created the last week. Can I change this behaviour? I would like to see all topics, no matter which time they have been created, sorted by answers within the last week, last month, etc.

For example: Thread X has 100 posts all time, thread Y has 90 posts all time, last 7 days Thread X had 10 posts, thread Y had 15 posts. So Thread Y would be higher ranked for last 7 days.

This one won't let me go. For what is popular I ask myself "Which of all the topics have been most popular the last 30 days? Was it the thread that has just been created or was is that 2 years old topic". Currently when you filter by 30 days, the 2 years old thread won't be included in the search results.

Does someone have an idea how this could be implemented or feedback to this?
