Integrating NodeBB in a CMS

    Hi, all.
    Is it possible integrate NodeBB in a CMS?
    In my CMS I have a page template with an header, footer and other custom editorial component (carousel, banner, etc.). Is it possible to use NodeBB in this type of architecture or maybe is not the right product for my needs?

    @JoeCaleb likely not the ideal candidate. NodeBB is designed to be a standalone web resource, co-existing alongside another side on a subdomain or subfolder.

    You could customize a theme to match the look and feel of your main site – that's what we do here. The header and footer are dynamically retrieved from NodeBB.org

    I use nginx as a static file server just as the wiki illustrates. And I added a log to monitor what kind of requests goes to NodeBB server.

    location ~ ^/(images|sounds|templates|uploads|vendor|src\/modules|nodebb\.min\.js|stylesheet\.css|admin\.css) { root /path/to/nodebb/public/; try_files $uri $uri/ @nodebb; } location / { access_log /var/log/nginx/access3.log; proxy_pass http://io_nodesss; }

    I found that some of requests of the static files are still going to NodeBB:

    "GET /src/modules/composer/preview.js?d7bd0222-d024-4aba-869d-0b088e7d5ba1 HTTP/1.1" 200 772 "GET /src/modules/composer/uploads.js?d7bd0222-d024-4aba-869d-0b088e7d5ba1 HTTP/1.1" 200 2539 "GET /src/modules/composer/drafts.js?d7bd0222-d024-4aba-869d-0b088e7d5ba1 HTTP/1.1" 200 492

    And I checked that those files are not in ./src/modules, they are at ./node_modules/xxxx/static/ instead.

    Is there any solution to this? Don't tell me that I should copy those files to /src/modules/ manually.

    Use pgrep/pkill! 😉

    kill -s USR1 $(fgrep -f "app.js")

    or even shorter with pkill

    pkill -USR1 -f "app.js"

    Substitute -USR1 with -SIGHUP and you got yourself a quick and easy build-tool command to restart NodeBB, when changing files. 🙂
    (I'm using SublimeText / Atom)

    Will there be a new theme for version .5?

    Just curious (from an excitement for the next version standpoint). The current themes are already leaps and bounds better than other forum scripts.

    @psychobunny Which Ghost theme does the NodeBB blog use? I really liked it. A customized version of the Casper theme? Obviously I would like to have this theme: D
