Best new features?

Hello. I am going to upgrade to 1.17.0 later today. What I'm wondering is, what are the best new features that the forum users will like the most?

@dunlix I'm still working through the 1.17 upgrade since completing mine this morning. There's some nice cosmetic changes for sure, but quite disappointing that some plugins I previously needed currently do not work on the latest release.

@phenomlab I'm currently trying, but after these commands:
For example, if upgrading from v1.11.1 to v1.12.0:

$ git fetch    # Grab the latest code from the NodeBB Repository
$ git checkout v1.12.x    # Type this as-is! Not v1.12.0 but "v1.12.x"!
$ git merge orig/v1.12.x

It returns that it is already up to date. I'm certain I was on 1.16.2, but I'm running git merge orig/v1.17.x

@dunlix @phenomlab Huh. I think it did upgrade, I guess I didn't notice. It is installing dependencies now that I ran ./nodebb upgrade, but it failed because of something ... idk

@dunlix I had something similar. Can you share the log ?

@phenomlab I've tried for a few hours now, so instead I backed up my Uploads folder (path.to.nodebb/public/uploads), backed up my DB, and completely deleted my entire NodeBB installation, and started from scratch. If you don't change the DB, all posts, settings, etc will be there except for plugins which you have to reinstall. Plugin settings WILL be there after they are reinstalled. Images will be there if you place the uploads folder back.
