    Imagemagick is installed on the server, and supports gifs. That's literally the only reason why we use it over jimp 😛

    But you use Iframely as well, doesn't that handle gifs?

    Sharp doesn't handle gifs so we use the image-magick plugin to resize gifs for profile pictures.
