Does is slow down page loading ? It is already at 6 seconds.
Hmm, 6 seconds isn't good nor is it bad. Where are you getting this number by the way?
So yeah, it just depends really on what you're trying to accomplish. If you optimize delivery by compressing the image and using a CDN service (optional), you should be okay. Make sure the image isn't huge or more than 2000px in size. Remember the larger the image, the longer it takes for the end user to download.
It would be great if there was a global setting to automatically thumbnail images in posts without user interaction.
I would really appreciate if it could be an admin setting where you could set a thumbnail-size for all uploaded images, if you click on them they will show the original image in full size.
I know there is a plugin (nodebb-plugin-image-sizer) that does resize images, but requires user knowledge.
@PitaJ Yeah, I know. I came across the resize mechanism in the code last night so, there is some dimension handling already but yeah, this ain't easy.
However, what could be easy is a placeholder image, like a 50x50 generic image that's used for everything. Then you at least know something is there.
