is there a way to limit the registration per IP to avoid spam (manually registrations with fake emails)?
If a user has registered one account, he will not be able to register a second one with the same IP (optionally for X time)
@zerefgg this function can only be made by the admin
This is an old topic, but for those wondering, this is best done via the registration queue.
From there you can see all other accounts with matching IPs and approve/deny as needed.
We highly recommend you stay up to date for the latest security fixes.
This looks more like a cacheing issue though. You can try running a rebuild and restart, that should reset the cache buster.
@gotwf pardon the late response, I've adopted your suggestion, thanks! 👍
@julian good to know! And apparently my spammers were all "human-powered"; ever since I made the changes suggested by @baris the blacklist hits and spam accounts have dropped to zero!
Hopefully it stays that way so I can focus on content 😇
Such a thing happens in cases when using the proxy. Try to reset and configure the server again.
@wellenreiter Actually the new version is 1.0.0, the new branch is called v1.x.x as you mentioned. This is a big difference 😉
I didn't think that Nodebb could be improved much more but once again I am surprised and enjoying !
Well done guys 👊
