I would suggest not to follow that tutorial. For some reason the tutorial clones NodeBB under /var/www which is not required. Also you will end up using the master branch of NodeBB which is a development version and is likely to have bugs.

@PitaJ Actually never mind, I just changed the color of the entire bar instead of trying to figure what the text color was! You can delete this thread. Although I still think you should add in the next version to ability to change all colors using color selectors in the control panel, as it does not make sense to have some but not others.

@Violing I was able to make it work with /forum; no ^~ required. Given what @yariplus stated this seems relevant. ive done something like this, change the links in navigation to require to be logged in. only link i have on my main forum, is the login link, everythign else is taken away
