How do I deploy NodeBB from Cloud9 on Digital Ocean?

    Hi Everyone,

    To be more specific about my issue, I want to deploy NodeBB from Cloud9 on Digital Ocean in order for it to run 24/7 and connect to the domain I purchased rather than the cloud9 URL (which requires me to sign in and run).

    More info about me:
    -I successfully set up NodeBB on Cloud9.
    -Bought domain from Godaddy which I have already set it up on Digital Ocean.
    -Wanting to connect NodeBB on Cloud9 to the domain I purchased.

    Mayhaps the main issue is the Android platform itself? The security advisories coming down the pipe from US-CERT since escalation of Russian and Chinese sponsored cyber warfare/terrorism have numbered in the hundreds. The goog seems to be struggling on this front whilst Apple (not a fan) seems to have cleaned up most of theirs.

    @pottla woah - 60hrs is extreme...
    I migrated from an old myBB forum to NOdeBB, and it took waaaaaaay less than that.

    It was less than simple too, I had to set up a droplet on Digital Ocean as an intermediate forum so I could migrate my data across.

    MyBB (mySQL database on my VPS) -> Mongo(Digital Ocean)
    Mongo -> Postgres(Digital Ocean)

    then import from DigitalOcean to my own VPS
    I also needed to install postgres etc on my own server, and I themed my forum.

    Hi guys, sorry I can't be of any help. I don't have any experience with IIS, but you seem to be on the right track, the client's IP should be forwarded to the node backend by your webserver.

    Anyone done this? I'm getting stuck - I think I need to get node running on the port defined by the env var PORT - is this possible?
