Is there a word for the digital squirreling involved in reading something in Apple News and trying to figure out the original URL by searching the headline online and then cutting and pasting the original story link into a virtual machine so I can see it in all its original glory?
German words are acceptable, too.

@briankrebs sounds like a news-ance to me... been there, done that.
-
@vbarreirojr Wow. I think you won on the first try!
-
@briankrebs Maybe you can borrow this one https://www.ferret.ai/

@briankrebs I’m probably missing something, but why can’t you just use:
1. The Share button to share with Safari which will open the original URL
2. Tap the three dots in the upper right to display a menu with a Copy Link itemAre there cases when this doesn’t work?

@briankrebs I kinda like Wurzelentwirrung.

@btschumy When I click that share button in apple news it gives me an apple news link.
-
@briankrebs If you’re using macOS, maybe this helps?

@briankrebs My first encounter with Apple News links was clicking on them only to be told 'This story can only be viewed in the Apple News app'.
Seems they stopped doing that years ago, but it was a nice little lesson and I still avoid them.
