Furstenau speaks strongly on polarization and how previous coalition government got work done and reduces polarization and "pointing fingers". Implores people to elect more greens for less polarization. #bccp #bcpoli #bcgreens #BCElxn2024 #bcelection #bcndp

@chris an episode of star trek the next generation comes to mind (it involves a cellular peptide cake - with mint frosting - but also people getting energy sucked out of their brains by straws.)

Rustad invokes the "Common Sense" words of the federal Conservative party platform as he closes, again going back to his "youth leaving BC" line he used most often all debate.
And there it ends. #bccp #bcpoli #bcgreens #BCElxn2024 #bcelection #bcndp

Overall I would say Rustad was on the defensive the most by far but got some of his main points out. Eby attacked the most, sometimes agreeing with Green leader Furstenau. Furstenau avoided attacking the others most of the time but got some digs in. She had the most effective delivery on policy.
Thanks for following this impromptu live tooting! -

@chris Thanks for the stream on the debate. The highlights were helpful and give me some hope that things will be okay come October 20.

A couple of points on this: If the candidate for the CEO position says up front he will not enforce all the rules, he is no longer qualified for the job.
And, from recent history, if they *do* get into power, they will probably enforce the rules on those they do not like, and not enforce them on their 'friends', which includies those who pay them bribes.

@chris you don't want to know how well-received that boneheaded line was at the Ladysmith townhall.

@chris Where the hell does this "1 out of 2 youth want to leave BC" thing come from that Rustad keeps repeating?
Apparently a poll from Mario Canseco at Research Co on Aug 30. Canseco was w Insights West & before that Angus Reid
