    Hey!

    How do I get the parent of the actual category in a Tamplate?

    Im just looking around and found this:

    How can I get the parent category-Name of the current (sub)category?
    Is there any reference I can use for such things in the future?

    What I like to do:

    Get the parent of the actual category use this value e.g. "foobar" to call the API of an external software and get JSON-Object depend on value "foobar" convert the data to display it between breadcrumbs / new topic in the nodeBB Forum

    Is it the right way to handle this with a template or am I completely wrong?
    I just installed nodeBB and I also do have no idea about node.js and all that stuff so sorry I am a noob. 🐵

    Redirect to login before the plugin's template is rendered

    Finally it worked. Thank you very much. Just two points:

    a. Ajaxing ends up with this URL:
    http://localhost:4567/map?_=1514797485831&loggedin=true

    I mean the internal details are visible to the user. An ideal solution is to reset the URL to something like this: localhost:4567/map

    b. Suppose I cold load with an invalid URL:
    http://localhost:4567/map?loggedin=FALSE

    it still renders the map page. Ideally, it should display the "Page Not found message"

    Any solution to these two? Or, shall I consider them as "OK let it behave so!"?

    How can I add a section in the Admin Menu?

    I know this is an old topic, but I just ran into this today and wanted to add an admin nav section in the minimally invasive way possible. This technique worked for me and I'm wondering if anybody has any thoughts about this being a good or bad approach to quickly adding a custom admin navigation menu from a plugin. Any critiques appreciated!

    The above code looks incorrect due to a bug in templates.js

    Take a look here

    You header.tpl should have that block in the <head> tag.

    What problem are you having exactly?
