This is a nice update to their droplets. I've been running the old $10 plan with 1 GB of RAM and 1 CPU core. Now I can't decide if I want to keep the same price and get double RAM, or lower down to $5 and keep the same box...

I went with the extra memory for the same price on mine. I don't notice any big differences, but I suspect as the cache builds up in node for the iFramely embeds, it will be nice.
Do I need to make any config changes as the memory increases on the server? Is there some "use X MB of memory" parameter?

We decided to take advantage of the new Digital Ocean plans on the box we host this forum on.
We could've doubled the cores, memory, and disk space, but NodeBB runs so spectacularly on it, it's a shame to waste all those extra goodies

Nope. Mongo will use the extra memory to build up its cache so subsequent queries are faster. Memory usage in NodeBB won't really be impacted.

I didn't think the upgrade would make a difference (1 GB of memory to 2 GB), but I have seen a decrease in 503 errors, and the forums load much faster when going between pages. Totally worth it.
