there are only 4 topics shown in recent list.
check here for my site and here recent list. as you can see there are only 4 topics shown.
I'm running nodebb 1.7.2
@mj I found the problem.
We have a few categories that afe not viewable for some users and we had over 80 topics in this category that's why the recent page had only 4 topics.
