What do the numbers in the active users dashboard mean?

Users and guests is intuitive. But what about connections? what does that mean?

Also, most of the time, the real time users in google analytics doesnt match with the numbers I see in my nodebb admin dashboard. For ex, when I took this picture, my GA was showing 2 real time users comapred to 5 users showed by nodebb. Can some please explain why it is so?

users = logged in users
guests = non logged in users
total = users + guests
connections = number of socket connections open (usually equal to tabs open to your forum)
