Pro-tip in these dark times: buy a cheap stethoscope and listen to your #cat purr.
We recently learned that our cat Max has a potential heart murmur so we got a stethoscope to see if we could hear it ourselves. This experiment was unsuccessful because he wouldn’t stop purring but we learned that listening to a cat purr through a stethoscope is amazingly soothing.

@rksio @irene well this sent me down a rabbit hole where I reviewed the literature on and learned to read feline EKGs, which is not necessarily a useful life skill to have
But I did find a reddit thread where someone had tried that and, no, apparently it didn't work.
