i read in another post ( https://community.nodebb.org/post/53578 ) that you should be able to use node v6. Since i did not find anything related to which version some should use.
The current Dockerfile suggest using v4 but the file was updated long time ago.
The docs also do not really say which version some should use (at least i didnt find it here: https://docs.nodebb.org/en/latest/installing/os/debian.html). Since the docs are mentioning wheezy i suspect they are outdated too.
I would suspect using v6 would be fine since this is the latest LTS now. Which version should is use?
@Xiph Thank you so much for the reply!
We're not actually pulling images from Docker Hub, as the default image out there seems to just pull an 0.5 branch. We're actually building the image from source using the Dockerfile that is included.
The info you included will be super helpful in getting this going the way we want. We will not be posting these images publicly, for the exact reasons you mentioned above (i.e. secret).
I'll probably be back with more questions though.
and this port then sends this to docker with port 4567. I have no nginx involved anywhere. How can I make login work in my case?
I'm not familiar with Docker, but something is acting as reverse proxy. You'll have to figure out what it is, and add that header in appropriately.
I have created a Dockerfile and docker-compose yml file to bring up my forum based commodity institute -- currently locate at forum.bamboosnow.com (pre-alpha as of July 21, 2016)
