A Reddit post promoting the Fediverse that actually gained traction (and Reddit deleted the top comment for promoting Lemmy)

Frankly I donโt want Redditors here
If thereโs a single group of people I hate itโs Redditors. Just fuck them (haha zecks, my wife left me smh, I want this guys wife)
In an alternate universe I would be like a ted kaczynski of anti reddit sending hot packages to the authors of most painful comments

How can you look more alien than Zuckerberg?

I left reddit because they kept resisting the removal of subs that directly used the platform to sell CSAM under the guise of a specific niche of porn which normally is legal. Direct contact with reddit to explain why it was CSAM went nowhere.

Not just a grace period, but opening the sub selection menu, I can no longer just close it and return to the view I already had. That view can stick around indefinitely if you enter a post and then back out of it, the posts you had before will remain. There will be no refresh. But when you press back one more time and open that menu, the only way back to the home feed is to select it, which will refresh it. The app has the ability to not refresh, but not in that very specific circumstance. Like literally just a button to close the menu would do the trick I think.

Welcome here!

People are scared of new things and grow complacent once they find their place in a community or on an app, in this case. It's the same reason people will argue to death about needing Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook, whatever, and not leave any of them

Lemmy is mostly people who used to be Redditors. People are people.

That's the truth. For people reminding how large was Lemmy before the API fiasco, the vast majority of people here came from Reddit.

Knowing reddit moderators, they probably just encountered someone from those instances that disagreed with them that one time.

Is 500 upvotes that much on reddit?
On lemmy its huge, but on reddit i have seen posts with twice that in niche subreddits

For a comment it's a lot yea, especially since the thread was still pretty new. It was the top comment in that thread by a large margin.

I bet the fediverse wouldn't censor a post about reddit because the fediverse isn't a bitch.

ive been here over a year now and I sure did. haven't used reddit since.
if you didn't come here from reddit, I'd be curious to hear where you did come from before making a Lemmy account.

I still prefer the email analogy with explaining how it works. The WoW analogy is for the people who say "That's too complicated for the unwashed masses to understand." People have been signing up for World of Warcraft going on three decades now, I think they'll figure out lemmy.world vs sh.itjust.works.
