So I have some questions about the state of the #fediverse on #WordPress.

@alexstandiford I’ll defer to @pfefferle but I think progress is being made on migrating followers. But I am unsure about the feed part... I'm curious too.
I just installed the ActivityPub plugin on my site and I've been doing some experimenting. It is very exciting. A bit messy. And an interesting time. I'm really looking forward to seeing progress being made here and may try to contribute some.

@cdevroe @pfefferle yes me too! My site has fully migrated all of my historical content on X and I’m working on importing Instagram. Been publishing micro content through it for years now, just haven’t actually installed ActivityPub to start using it.
Wondering how effective it would be to use this account as a proxy, boosting content from my original site exclusively, and interacting with my feed with this account. Not ideal but still progress, I think.

@alexstandiford @cdevroe you can already interact with comments using the blog profile. It is simply not possible to follow others yet.
I am also experimenting with auto boosting blog posts through a mastodon account https://github.com/pfefferle/wordpress-crossbooster

@pfefferle @cdevroe oh cool. How experimental is this? Is it in a state where I can try it out/report issues? Or is it something you’re in the midst of building/figuring out?

@alexstandiford So, for migrating followers I don't know; only thing I am aware about, is another developer - Alex Kirk - who created a plugin called "friends", allowing you to monitor your blog's follower and following. - wordpress.org/plugins/friends
It's suggested on ActivityPub blogs main settings. My 2 cents, hth. -

@alexstandiford @cdevroe the crossbooster? I think I have to implement a retry but otherwise it should work!

@talksina thanks. I remember that plugin being discussed a few years back too. Just wondering if it actually got and maintained traction.

@pfefferle @alexstandiford I understand the purpose of the crossbooster but I think it would be unneeded if the WP-ActivityPub-powered accound became a "real" AP account w/ follow feed + migrations. Because then I wouldn't need an account on a Mastodon instance at all.

@pfefferle Cool. Any chance to make the booster also support other platforms than just mastodon? I'm aware that's a lot of work for a minority of setups. But could help to increase app diversity.

@alexstandiford As far as I know, Friends is still maintained. I have many problems on it (it blocks my website) so I no longer use it. But I saw an update some weeks ago.

@morph theoretically it should work for every platform that supports the mastodon client api.
