I tend to limit reporting to gross violations like not using cw's for violence or sexual content. Inauthentic accounts- I'm not an expert, you know? And the moderation here is DIY so I limit reporting for that reason too. But that's just my personal preference. Report away!

You're not wrong. Generally, if you want to see if an account is BS or not, look in their post history. There are a lot of flags to look for, but if they have a bunch of links to a single online news source that nobody has ever heard of, you can bet your retirement it's a troll. The person in question did.

This program upgrades old #Nuclear Fission #warheads into newer Nuclear Fusion warheads, and generally maintains the current arsenal. It does NOT increase the supply of #NuclearWeapons, and newer Fusion warheads actually have FAR LESS #NuclearFallout than the old ones: this decreases the risk of #civilian exposure to nuclear elements, and #NuclearWinter.

This is an alternative to #Putin attempting to fire a #missile recently which malfunctioned and destroyed the entire launch site.

While nuclear weapons are a dangerous thing to have, and preferably should NEVER be used, #NATO keeps a supply for retaliatory purposes: Russia alone has more nuclear weapons than all of NATO combined.

NATO's nuclear weapons are only usable in specific, retaliatory and existential circumstances, such as a full-scale nuclear first-strike by Putin.

Either way, as having nuclear weapons is neither new nor exclusively #US policy, the claim that it increases the likelihood of #NuclearWar is FALSE.

After reviewing, I'll be limiting the account from TechHub's end, because while I try not to use Moderation abilities on political speech in general, most of this is really intense misinformation, and some of it is so verifiably false I have to assume "Unfinished Symphony" here is at the very least a "useful" for some group's misinformation campaign.

We should do what we can to stop the spread.

Cali, you should consider reporting, just so your moderators have seen it: most of us would rather see a report on which we take no action, and know what's up, than miss a very real issue we would've responded to. You can state that you're unsure if they need to look in your report.

I don't ever ignore them because when they aren't outright election meddling, they are inciting hatred for LGBT people or other minorities, trying to affect US foreign policy, assaulting the mental well being of the kids, etc. They are a cancer that's been working hard since the height of 4chan and Facebook when russia and China realized they could weaponize the incels and conspiracy nuts. A lot of people have died because of this.

The Fediverse has better moderation than any other social network, simply because all of us are just normal users who want to improve the network. Sometimes that means making really hard calls like limiting someone who is engaging in politics, so it can take a while, but we do a lot better job in general than the corporate networks.
