As a music lover the Bay Area is really great. One time I was like randomly going to concerts across the street and ended up watching Anat Cohen and Chris Potter live in the same week (only the greatest jazz clarinet and sax players alive..)
Today, Nduduzo Makhathini at the Freight.
I don’t make use of this privilege often enough

A lot of great rock / punk music but I don’t really go out to those anymore (prefer listening at home, don’t like the rowdiness)
-
I heard a great jazz sax player at a bar and asked him to teach me, and he does! I spend a lot of time with him hehe
-
@skinnylatte have you heard Sarah Hanahan on sax? She plays a lot at Smalls Live/Mezzrow in NY and I’ve listened to the recorded sessions.
-
@sumisu3 oh nice! Not yet will check her out

@skinnylatte Was across the street seeing Matchbox Magic Flute, adapted from Mozart by Mary Zimmerman (an amazing director/writer/producer). If you like western opera at all, it’s a hoot. (And less than 4 hours long )

@wdh at Berkeley repertory? Yeah looked great too!
