My gold standard for cable news appearances is Terry McAuliffe's Morning Joe appearance on June 2, 2008. McAuliffe was the chair of Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign. June 2 was the day before Barack Obama secured enough delegates to beat Hillary for the Democratic nomination.
I guess McAuliffe felt he needed to project an air of confidence, so he came on in an Hawaiian shirt waving a bottle of rum
