I see lots of Americans with "I voted" stickers.

@davidnjoku yes. But it's not as nice as what Australians get: they get food hot off the barbie

We haven’t quite standardized on a solution for mail-in and early voting though. Some early voting sites also hand out stickers. Some states include a sticker with your mailed ballot. I don’t have one and I’m sad. Maybe I’ll go to my polling place and politely ask for one. -
@rwg Is that for real or just a story the Australian Tourist Board has put out to attract immigrants?
-
@davidnjoku I do believe it's real.
Folks from #Australia, will you please verify that when you vote (as you are compelled to do, I believe) you often get grilled foods?
-
@davidnjoku oh, someone already confirmed it
free food, but mandatory voting, the duplicitous edge upon with those from Oz walk

I voted via mail in #Michigan and I am angry to no end I did not get this year's "I voted" sticker:
(scroll down, it's worth it)

@rwg @davidnjoku
Yes. Not for free though. Sold by charities outside polling stations. "Democracy Sausage". -
not free, but still sounds lovely.
Do you find that compulsory voting helps mitigate against extremism?
-
The Secretary of State said yesterday that the stickers are available at all SoS branches.

I don't live in the USA...
-
@rwg how easy was it to vote from abroad?
-
@davidnjoku @k8quinn @JJKrawczyk
I believe it was pretty easy. Sent in a form to my county clerk, got an email with a ballot, printed it, signed the affidavit, mailed it. Last I checked it was received, and I have to assume will be counted tonight.
