When I talk about my music, I often talk about hard things I've been through, because as I went through them it was helpful to know that other people had gone through them and thrived, or adapted in frankly beautiful ways.

I find that people respond positively to vulnerability in my art.
Telling, as they say, my stories from the scars, not the wounds.
The best thing I can possibly hear, after a show, is, "I did not know that I needed to hear that."

@jvw I don't think I've heard those words. I have heard something like "That was just what I needed." Or "You really know how to tell my story with your songs/music."
And I agree that what I have heard of your songs is quite vulnerable and accessible. Thanks. That's a great example and inspiration to me.
