The pharmacist said that other patients have also requested Novavax and told her, as we’ve experienced, that it’s gentler than Pfizer and Moderna.
Got our flu shots, too. Stay safe, everyone.

@FormerlyStC Hmm. This is the first I've heard of anything like this—the FDA's EUA has nothing like that in it and no press coverage is turning up.
My local pharmacies are booking Nova appointments out as far as their calendar apps will go, too.
I hate to speculate, but it sounds like someone's confused, tbh. Pharmacy staff say weird things sometimes—I've been told that Nova was never EUAed, for instance, months after the rollout.

@kissane Thanks for prompting me to check that. I’ve edited my original post here and replaced a parallel post on Bluesky.
*I* was confused by what I heard at the pharmacy. Some *manufacturing lots* of Novavax (like the package they had at that CVS) expire soon. I think a pharmacy tech phrased it as if they’d no longer have Novavax at all after the end of the month.

@FormerlyStC Ahh you know, I bet some pharmacies aren’t reordering! Our local one who got it first ran a waiting list because she wasn’t sure she’d get through the whole batch otherwise, which is honestly a lot to ask of already swamped pharmacists.
