Something that's been stuck in my craw for months is watching the GOP go after IVF. It makes no sense because IVF lets rich white people have more babies and isn't that the ultimate goal for their party? They're not so fundamental about eggs/sperm to ban the whole process so why on earth are they trying?
Then I realized: they think 2 women in a relationship shouldn't be able to have kids, so they ban all IVF to get what they want—control of women operating outside of any traditional norms.

@mathowie I think this is right, and also it’s about forcing more women to have children earlier if they want kids at all, which puts them behind in careers and makes them more dependent. There’s a multi-faceted push against delaying having kids (for women only).
And as with abortion, rich families will be able to afford travel to jurisdictions that allow it.
