Here’s what I do know.
People jumped down my throat because I got the pronouns wrong of a serial harasser and abuser who is white-passing.
Eris, who is white, and her merry band of anti-Black fucks REGULARLY misgenders trans folks and say Black and Brown folks aren't trans enough on a consistent basis and nobody has shit to say about that.
This has been happening for years. This is how I know a lot of so-called progressives don't actually care about trans folks because they only have something to say when it's time to defend a bigot.
Y'all aren't defending trans people. You are defending whiteness.

I'm glad union place has shown they are on the side of white supremacy because it shows yet again how deep anti-Blackness goes in the fedi.
And not from known bad instances, but from the places that claim to be progressive.
I've said before there aren't that many out-and-out racist instances on the fedi, so those are manageable.
The problem is places like UP that give space to these places to operate because aligning with whiteness is more important than anything else.
The fedi is getting another lesson on how alleged progressivism by white folks is largely performative in an attempt to cover up the latent hatred they have for anything Black or Brown.

@are0h unions have a long history of supporting and being active white supremacists. Over 100 years here in Western Canada. A "good job" for "good people" too often meant white people only. Immigrants and any PoC excluded.

@Gemma A few years ago I lead an effort to remove the name of a local longtime politician from a street. He was in politics from the 1900s to the 1940s and was one of the leading anti-Asian and particularly anti-Japanese MPs in Canada's Parliament.
I'll never forget one person in the community, who likely voted BC Liberal or Conservative, asking me why I was "against" him if I am a Green or NDP "lefty" person.
"He was a union supporter and supported workers!” she said.
Ya... only white settler workers. He was all too happy to advocate that every Japanese person, no matter if they were born in Canada or not, be stripped of their positions, their fish boats, their homes, and white Canadians get everything for a firesale price.
