Plus side, the states that haven't been called yet and that are leaning towards or likely to go to him aren't enough to cross the 93 more votes he needs.

It only takes one or two awful surprises for this to go the wrong way, so I'm biting my nails and having a second drink, but this *might* work out OK?

@xgranade I had basically forgotten this but it’s another structural effect of the electoral college: red victories are fast, blue victories are slow. Probably the least of its horrible features but horrible nonetheless

@glyph Right, and even within each state, Republicans have successfully gotten a lot of changes made that force blue-leaning blocks to be counted after red-leaning blocks, so that red mirage is definitely engineered.

It’s mostly that feeling you said earlier. The fact that even if they’re being counted out of order, we are confronted with all these *people*. These millions upon millions of people who are, at best, dangerous overconfident ignoramuses and at worst something vastly darker
