There needs to be a limit on when journalists can call a company a "startup. "
Just saw it used to describe a company founded in 2014.
At some point you just need to call it like it is, a chronically unprofitable company.

@octothorpe Probably sleepy brain, but now I'm getting in the weeds of the analogy. I'm pro cock sucking, but VC... For my sins I was very close to that world for a number of years and its mostly gross and a major contributor of the current software hell. There's a reason I think "serial entrepreneur" is a grave insult.

@troublewithwords oh totally. A healthy attitude would be to want to create *and sustain* a company. The notion of creating a company *with an exit strategy at inception* is hugely problematic. The whole notion of ‘exit strategy’ is basically code for ‘grift’.
