You know there was a time in 2003'ish when it was so hard to find anyone writing anything useful about Lisp, and so sometimes I'd read things Paul Graham would write with interest

> Was it sexist to propose that Darwin's greater male variability hypothesis might explain some variation in human performance? Sexist enough to get Larry Summers pushed out as president of Harvard, apparently.
oh my god
> And yet it does seem plausible that greater male variability explains some of the variation in human performance. So which should prevail, comfort or truth?

@cwebber Graham is such an archetypal tech figure, in that he has interesting-slash-useful opinions on a small range of narrowly technical topics, and the further he ranges out from inside that charmed circle the more depressingly ignorant he is revealed to be. But he's been crowned a Philosopher, so he can't help himself from leaving the circle. The demands of his social role carry him ruthlessly to the rocks
