like, unity 6 and ue 5.5 look incredible. unfortunately no games i would actually want to play seem to use them
-
or rather, no games i would want to play that are available for the hardware i own. there’s like 2 games i would want to play that use ue5. satisfactory is one of them. it looks very good but the console version isn’t out yet. i refuse to buy a gaming pc, because i want to keep windows out of my life
-
@exchgr [ tiny voice ] It sounds like Satisfactory runs acceptably under Proton, maybe needing just a few config tweaks
-
@jalefkowit unfortunately i don’t have a steam deck either, and i don’t particularly want one, since it doesn’t really fit into my life right now. basically my preferred gaming setup involves my fancy oled tv (hdr/dolby vision-capable) and 5.0 sonos (atmos-capable). so that translates to preferring ps5 most of the time, and docked switch for nintendo exclusives. handheld is nice-to-have, and i have razer kishi ultra + iPad mini + ps remote play for that, which is good enough
-
@exchgr Oh, if you have a home theater setup like that I totally get why you'd want to use it
-
@jalefkowit if i had my druthers, i would have a single switch-sized arm-architecture oled convertible device with better ergonomics that could do at least 1080p60, maybe 1080p120 if i’m lucky, maybe 4k120 ideally (but not necessary), dolby vision-like, and dolby atmos-like, and which could play all the games i want
-
@jalefkowit oh and hardware-accelerated raytracing
-
@exchgr And a pony! Don't forget the pony
